Bible
It has always been my goal to read my bible cover to cover…Genesis through Revelation. I never have…but I am starting now! I am going to chart my progress here!!! Please, if you never have done this before, I encourage you to join me!! I love reading God’s word and I am excited to finally do this!!! I always get stuck somewhere in the OT and stop. I want to add this to my daily bible study, a few chapters a day!!
Check back often to see my progress!!!
I am not going to list everyday, I am just going to track where I am on what day whenever I remember!!
Through October 8th- I have read through Genesis 21
October 10th-through Genesis 29
October 17th-through Genesis 50–moving on to Exodus!!
October 24th-through Exodus 15
October 29th-through Exodus 25
November 1st-through Exodus 35
November 2nd-I finished Exodus!!
December 1st-through Leviticus 15

How cool Amber!! I’m doing this too…but I actually started when I got pregnant with Ivey and I’m not even through Exodus yet. LOL But I’ve picked back up and am moving at a faster rate now. It’ll be fun to do this together!!
Cool Bryn!!
I have some bad days, and then some really good days!
How far are you now? I got some time last night and made it to Exodus 32!! Woohoo! LOL
I am through Exodus 20!!
Amber and Brynna, I have been reading your blog and it is very interesting. I am kind of new at this blog thing and am not sure what kind of comments to leave on most of the ones I have read. When I clicked on the reading through the Bible page, the comments reminded me of the first time I read the bible. What ever you do, don’t stop. If you pray before you read and ask for the Lord to give you some insight in exactly what he is speaking to you in those particular passages. He will show you, maybe not exactly at that moment, but down the road somewhere in your life time you will see. He has something for you in every word He has recorded in the Bible. Sometimes we miss it because we don’t stop long enough to listen. You really don’t have to read a whole book in one day. Although, the first time I read the bible, I was 38 years old and was in awe when I began to read. I couldn’t put it down, I finished it in 5 months, and seemed to understand every word (I was reading the Old King James version and it isn’t exactly in the language of today). I have read other versions, but I seem to prefer the Old King James, and have gone back to it. I try to read it through once a year. You would be surprised to see how much you miss the first, second, and third time. It is kind of like watching a movie again and you see something you didn’t notice the first time. I believe God lets us see only what we are ready for each time we read His word. I just wanted to let you both know, now that I have rambled on, that I will be praying for you and keep up the good work. God Bless, and Bless, and Bless you!

Slowly but surely I am getting there. I had a few days off this weekend
But I am back and at it!
I am starting some serious Bible studying currently…while I’m not trying to read the Bible all the way through from front to back in order…I am trying to really study it. I have just finished reading “A Modern Girls Guide To Bible Study” and it has really inspired to me to allow God’s Word to live in my heart and through my life. Keep it up…I’m right there with you!
Coming from a person who has read the Bible cover to cover I want to encourage you in your endeavor. Reading the Bible through is not for everyone. Nor do you need to read it many times through.
I was glad to read your comment saying you had a few days off but are back at it. That is great! Many times when someone “takes a break” from a goal they don’t continue it. Don’t set a time-line for yourself during the first time through. Many people try it in a year, take a break, get discouraged, and give up because they can’t make it in THAT time-line.
Maybe if you get “stuck” in one of Moses’ books
you could read something in the NT for a few days and then come back to Moses!
It seems Numbers gets me every time! I and II Chronicles and Kings are like that too. Once I’m passed those I do pretty well.
Keep on keeping on! You can do it!
Kinda got to a standstill…need to keep plugging away!!
I need to join you in the Amber!! I am going to have some more time on my hands with Zach’s new job I think, I can’t think of anything I need to do more!! thanks for posting about this!!
