Then all of a sudden I ignored it!! Not quite as bad with Alex’s blog, but close!
Life has just been super busy. I start working out at the nuclear plant on Monday for the next 4-6 weeks or so. Look for more updates/posts after that time. Late October or early November I plan on starting the Read the Bible in 90 days program!!
So, look for more on that!!
Until then..

Well, they got me!!
I am not surprised often, and wasn’t 100% surprised, but they did get me!
My mom and Franz planned a surprise birthday party for me. It was on Saturday and was SO much fun. I will write more later….gotta go and tend to Alex!!!

Well, I got my haircut yesterday! After a big ordeal, I am very happy with the results! ![]()

I also started reading this book (yes, along with all my Jodi selections! LOL)

After swimming lessons today with Alex and some other trying times lately with a very much 2 year old, I decided we need to look at some different approaches to discipline and parenting in general!! If anyone has read it and has any feedback on trying what they talk about, let me know!!
I’d sure appreciate it!
We are staying busy around here. Alex has swimming lessons all week. Franz is finally done working nights on Friday morning! Yippeee!!! We don’t have any big plans for the weekend and that is OK with me!
Next week is birthday week around here. Florence is coming down for the weekend, so that should be fun! I am turning the big 3-0! oooohhh…
We are going here for supper.
Other than that, the outage starts in mid September, so I will start working here in a few weeks! Yippee skippee!
Extra money to help us pay off that new car of Franz’s (well, not NEW, but new to us!)
Hope all is well with everyone. I really need to get better at updating these blogs, eh?

Ok, so it isn’t a garden…but I do have one tomato and one pumpkin plant! LOL They are both doing great and have made their presence known in our yard!
Today we reaped the benefit of our tomato plant with our first 4 ripe yellow tomatoes! DELISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *drools* There are SO many more on those vines getting ready to be eaten, and I can’t wait. Alex and I polished off 3 of them before supper time!!
Here are some pics of the tomatoes and the pumpkin plant…and our very first pumpkin!! ![]()

I will have to share a picture of the tomato plant later!

I can now add Keeping the Faith and My Sister’s Keeper to my list of Jodi’s books that have been read!
Not sure what is next…but these last two were amazing!
Watch for a post soon about my garden (that consists of 2 plants! LOL 1 tomato and 1 pumpkin!)
Have a great day!

I will admit that reading is not one of my hobbies. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading and can get lost in a book that captures my attention quickly! But, honestly, I haven’t read much in the last few years. A book here and there, but nothing regular.
Until now. I bought a book at Menards of all places! Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. Sucked me in from the first page! Well, since then…less than 2 weeks ago, I have finished three of her books. Plain Truth, The Pact and just last night…Nineteen Minutes! She is an amazing writer and I am really enjoying reading her books! Right now I am reading her latest – Change of Heart!
If you have never read her books, I suggest that you do!
On my shelf are sitting: The Tenth Circle, My Sister’s Keeper and Keeping the Faith! Two from the library and one from a friend!!

I feel like I haven’t been online for a few weeks, and it is so nice. I do miss it, but we have gotten so much done around the yard and house!
My mom is leaving on Sunday. I will be sad and won’t know what to do next week with her gone!
Watch for some new posts in the next few weeks…

Here is what we are getting Franz for father’s day. It is going in a 5 slot frame! I have to pick up the pictures today! I am so excited!!
