In a slump!

June 4, 2008

Lately, I have just been in a slump.  No motivation to do anything!!!  My house is showing it for sure!  I really need to get in gear and get organized (not that I really ever have been! LOL)

A while back I created a daily to do list.  I stuck with it for about a week…then vacation time came around.  Once we were done with vacations, I never got back into the swing of it all.  UGH!

So, from now on, back to my daily schedule, meal planning and budgeting will be normal daily things for me.  They HAVE to be or I will drive myself and my family crazy!! :-)

The end!

Feels good to be home!

April 30, 2008

Well, we got home from our trip to Seattle last night about 10:00! We had a great time with friends and seeing the sights of Seattle!! I will post more about our trip and what we did, but for now, here are a few pictures!

Oh, to be organized!

April 10, 2008

I don’t know if you read my 100 things I want to accomplish this year list or not, but a major theme of that was getting organized! (along with weight loss! LOL)

Well, I so far feel that both “to-do’s” are getting a B!!  Organization/housework, etc. have never been my “thing”.  But, as part of my role as a SAHM…I have to do those things!!  Hehehe…

So, the last few weeks (since working took up 2 months of my time! ;) ) I have been working on organzing my household chores.  It has been working!  I got the idea of making a list of 5 things to do each day from Kelly over at the Barefoot Mama!!  It is wonderful!  No longer do I feel overwhelmed each day with a page full of things to do!!  Also, along with keeping my list to only 5 things, my weekly chores have also been divided up!  Example:  Monday I do my laundry and sweep the upstairs floors; Tuesdays I do DH’s laundry and clean bathrooms, and so on and so on!!  The laundry part is the best!  I now have a set day for each of our laundry, as well as towels/sheets!  IT is MARVELOUS!!!!  This new set up frees up our weekends to do things more fun than housework (although we always have toys to pick up!!).

So, it’s baby steps for me.  First organizing my cleaning schedule, then moving on to organizing closets, cupboards, etc!!  This week I have been feeling so good about the house and DH has even noticed a difference!  Before, I used to just feel like I should get EVERYTHING done in one day and that just never happened.  I’d get frustrated and overwhelmed, and just do nothing!  Well, you know how your house looks after a couple days of that! LOL

Now if I could just afford to pay someone to do all this for me, life would be grand…

Our latest purchase!

March 28, 2008

We are picking this up tomorrow morning! We are replacing Franz’s neon! It has been needing replacing for a while, but we just couldn’t justify another debt when we had others! Now that we paid everything off, we are going back into debt again, but it should just be until the end of the year!! :)

What is it about a new year?

January 10, 2008

And this one for sure.  I don’t know what it is, haven’t been able to pinpoint it, but I have been feeling so good about this year!!!  Maybe it is because I see the end of some of our debt in the near future and I see the weight coming off and I see more organization in my house.  I am not sure, but it is a great feeling!!  Keeping a cleaner and more efficient house was something that I really worked on last year.  I didn’t give it all I should have, but it was a major focus.  Now, my house is far from perfect, but it is getting to be so much more of what I envision our home to be!!  Decluttering was a major part of that.  Things are now getting a place like they never had before.  There is less searching for items, as we have less!

Now, I am hoping that the year does go on as it has started and ends with a positive note.  In all reality, I know they may not happen, but I think if I keep a positive attitude going, anything is possible!!!!

Ahhh…the normal life returns!

January 2, 2008

WoW!  These last 4 months or so have just gone by in such a blur.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed each minute of it…but I am glad it is a new year…that the holidays are over, and that the company is gone!!

I figured out the other day that from September (when Brandon came) to this weekend (when Florence was here) that we had about 4 weekends to ourselves.  We either had company or were visiting someone.   Believe me, I love spending that time with our family.  I am just really looking forward to getting back into our routine and just enjoying spending time with our family of 3 a few weekends!!  Now, in February, the outage starts at Franz’s work. He will be working a lot of hours, and I may *possibly* be working.  SO, like I said, this will be short lived! LOL

I just realized how much I missed our routine while all the Thanksgiving/Christmas festivites were going on.  I realize how much my son thrives on our habits!   I actually like getting up at 4:30 in the morning to go and workout!  It makes for a better day for me!  We humans are such creatures of habit.

Anyway, this is the end of a very random post! :)   Hope you have a great Wednesday!!  Check out my other blog to read about my weekly weigh in if you are bored! LOL

I can’t believe it!

December 28, 2007

2007 is almost over. WOW!! This year seemed to fly by.

The years seem to do that, the older we get, don’t they?? Sad.

I really enjoyed this year.

I enjoyed watching Alex learn to crawl, get his first teeth, learn to walk, say his first words, and so on, and so on! He amazes me each day! I enjoy staying at home full time, and do NOT miss going to work, even for 10 hours a week! I love taking care of my husband and taking care of my home (well, I hate laundry, dishes and cleaning, but it is my job and I do love it…deep down in there somewhere!)

I am excited to see what 2008 brings. We have plans to pay off debts, buy a new car (or used! :) ), and *maybe* try to add to our family! MAYBE! ;) It should be interesting to see what happens this year, and see if it plays out as we want it to! I doubt it will 100%, but that is the fun part of life. Seeing what God has planned and his plans taking shape! I pray that you have all had a blessed 2007 and that 2008 brings more to your life than you even imagined!!!

Oh, and check out my 100 things I want to do this year at the top of the blog!! Some of them got kinda lame LOL, but I was tired when I did it!! Ha!! I don’t have much for expectations, eh? :) Notice the get rid of cat one…I sure HOPE that one comes true!! LOL

Ta Ta for now!

Merry Christmas!!!

December 24, 2007

I just wanted to wish all my faithful readers a Merry Christmas!!!! :) I hope that in the midst of all the presents and cookies and commotion that goes on with the holiday, you have time to reflect on the real reason that we celebrate!! The best gift of all is the gift that the Lord gives us. The gift of eternal life.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

I pray that you each can draw closer to God in the new year.  Set Him first on your priority list and everything will fall into place.  The Lord has blessed us SO much this year.  I know that I personally can grow more in the Lord, and just can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in 2008!  Be blessed and Merry Christmas!!

Love, Amber
