Update on our excitement yesterday!

April 21, 2008

Well, about 4:00 this afternoon Alex and I walked in the door from playing outside in the beaUtiful 70+ degree weather!  The phone was ringing.  It was an officer from our local reservation calling for me.  He said “I have your ID in my hand!”.  He asked if I had lost it, and I said, no it was stolen along with yadda, yadda, yadda…  He said, that is what I figured because yours isn’t the only one we have! ;)   He asked what I all had in the bag and we chatted for a bit.  He said I could come out or they may be able to send someone into town.  I said, I will be right there! LOL  So, I drove out there and got my bag, swimsuit (that I was going to return), wallet and all cards (except my zoo card!  GRRR…).  I was still missing Alex’s coat, puppy backpack and shirt and shorts I had planned on returning as well!  Oh, and my camera! ;)
I was thrilled to get back what I did.  Really.  I was more upset about someone having my personal information than taking my camera!  Besides, I got a new one anyway!!! ;)   Here is a link!

Just thought I’d keep you up to date on what happened! :)

To the person(s) who violated us today!

April 20, 2008

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the plus size clothes, cheap wallet, bag and camera you took from our family! We didn’t really need them anymore anyway! Our window will be fixed tomorrow, and life will be back to normal! :) You did NOT ruin our day (well, not the whole one anyway!). We still enjoyed our family day at the zoo, but alas, have NO pictures to share! Just know that you are forgiven and we are praying for you! I hope that you and your friends turn your lives around and ask for forgiveness from the Lord who created you! Jesus!! Have a nice day! :)

***For those that don’t know, when we got out of church today, we found our car window on the driver’s side busted out! I had a bag on the front seat with our camera, my wallet, clothes I was returning today and a few other random things. I NEVER leave my wallet or valuables in our car, let alone out in the open, but today of all days I did!! :P Well, they took that bag. No biggie, all replaceable…window is fixable. We are all ok! :) One other lady had the same thing happen, and a few other cars got rifled through. Two cars down from us was an unlocked car with a purse on the seat and a few cars from that was a vehicle with the keys inside! No rhyme or reason, just smash and grab and we were the not so lucky ones! So, anyway…if you are so inclined, say a prayer for the hoodlums that did this to us! They can run, but they can’t hide from the Lord!! :)

Happy Sunday! :)

Oh, to be organized!

April 10, 2008

I don’t know if you read my 100 things I want to accomplish this year list or not, but a major theme of that was getting organized! (along with weight loss! LOL)

Well, I so far feel that both “to-do’s” are getting a B!!  Organization/housework, etc. have never been my “thing”.  But, as part of my role as a SAHM…I have to do those things!!  Hehehe…

So, the last few weeks (since working took up 2 months of my time! ;) ) I have been working on organzing my household chores.  It has been working!  I got the idea of making a list of 5 things to do each day from Kelly over at the Barefoot Mama!!  It is wonderful!  No longer do I feel overwhelmed each day with a page full of things to do!!  Also, along with keeping my list to only 5 things, my weekly chores have also been divided up!  Example:  Monday I do my laundry and sweep the upstairs floors; Tuesdays I do DH’s laundry and clean bathrooms, and so on and so on!!  The laundry part is the best!  I now have a set day for each of our laundry, as well as towels/sheets!  IT is MARVELOUS!!!!  This new set up frees up our weekends to do things more fun than housework (although we always have toys to pick up!!).

So, it’s baby steps for me.  First organizing my cleaning schedule, then moving on to organizing closets, cupboards, etc!!  This week I have been feeling so good about the house and DH has even noticed a difference!  Before, I used to just feel like I should get EVERYTHING done in one day and that just never happened.  I’d get frustrated and overwhelmed, and just do nothing!  Well, you know how your house looks after a couple days of that! LOL

Now if I could just afford to pay someone to do all this for me, life would be grand…

Packing woes

April 7, 2008

I HATE packing for vacations!!   There is always that nagging feeling that I will forget something.  Most of the time, it is opposite.  I overpack!!  Since we are flying, that isn’t really something that I want to do, ya know!  We have to lug all our stuff, along with a carseat and toddler in tow!!! :)   I am thinking through some things, adding and deleting from my list, etc!  We also need to have a fun pack to bring on the plane for Alex!  This is his first time on a plane.  It should be like a car ride for him, and we have been on plenty of long ones with him!  He does really well in the car, so I am hoping the plane trip goes well!

Please share any travel tips you have, along with any tips for traveling with a toddler!  I would greatly appreciate them! :)
