Yes…we are still alive!

I feel like I dropped off the face of the blogging planet recently!  WOW!!

Time has just been so precious around here, that is the last thing I think about doing.  I got a temp job out where DH works.  Training was last week on computers and tomorrow starts the “real deal”!  Top that with a sick baby, and you have one busy momma.  One that is NOT used to working, NOT used to leaving her baby for such long periods of time, and NOT used to working full time, taking care of baby (up in the middle of the night) and keeping house!!  WOW.  To any of you full time working full time mommies *applause* to you!!

So, that is the explanation for my absense.  I will really not be around and posting much between now and the end of my job, which will be mid March sometime!  Hopefully, there will be a weekly update, but I am not about to promise anything!!

Weight loss is still going well.  If you want to follow that, check out my other blog at http://losingin2008.wordpress.com   Usually, that gets updated at least weekly for my Tales from the scales weigh in!!

I pray all is well with you all!  I miss being around and reading blogs and posting, but life is just kicking me in the butt right now! LOL  I will get used to it, and by that time the work will probably be done!!!

What is it about a new year?

And this one for sure.  I don’t know what it is, haven’t been able to pinpoint it, but I have been feeling so good about this year!!!  Maybe it is because I see the end of some of our debt in the near future and I see the weight coming off and I see more organization in my house.  I am not sure, but it is a great feeling!!  Keeping a cleaner and more efficient house was something that I really worked on last year.  I didn’t give it all I should have, but it was a major focus.  Now, my house is far from perfect, but it is getting to be so much more of what I envision our home to be!!  Decluttering was a major part of that.  Things are now getting a place like they never had before.  There is less searching for items, as we have less!

Now, I am hoping that the year does go on as it has started and ends with a positive note.  In all reality, I know they may not happen, but I think if I keep a positive attitude going, anything is possible!!!!

Hello!

This is gonna be a hodge podge post tonight, but it is 11:45, I just got home from the gym a bit ago and am really tired, but wound up! LOL

I am still here, just have been busy!! All my Christmas stuff is down and in storage. I also reorganized and decluttered my Christmas corner in the storage room. It looks great!!! I will have to share a picture later. Franz and I just went through our office area in the basement today! It looks great too. I have some before and after pics. I will have to think about sharing those, the before pics are kinda embarrassing! LOL I also worked on our guest/scrapbook/junk room upstairs. It is rearranged and I created a little “school” area for Alex. He loves to sit and color and play with stickers there! I will share more about that later along with some pictures!!

I am really feeling good about this year! Our house is finally getting organized and my storage room (and most of the house)is almost decluttered totally! The way we have the rooms set up now is finally a way that I really enjoy! The only thing we’d like to do is paint a few rooms, but that is nothing major. We do have some major things to do, but that will come with time…and money of course!

Our finances are finally becoming a little less tight. Feeling really good about them too! We only have a little bit left on a credit card we have been working on for a while. Now, mind you this credit card wasn’t used to purchase random things…it paid for things like our van, Franz’s car and our roof! We have had 0% for the life of the card, but that balance was just hanging over our heads for so many years. We are almost there and it should be gone before Alex’s birthday!!!!! I can’t tell you how happy I am about that! I have also started taking Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Franz can’t come with because he has to teach his class, but I get the audio CD’s with my kit. I am really excited about this program, as I have heard some really great things about it!! The day we are debt free will be a great one for sure!!!

Weight loss. For some reason, I just feel super positive about it this year. The gym is one of my new favorite places. I really enjoy going there, and have ventured out from the wee morning hours to afternoon and evening times as well! Amazing!! I am doing really well with my eating, and have plenty of reasons to lose weight. My 30th birthday is in August, I am in Kendra’s wedding in January 2009, we are going on vacation to Seattle and I just need to get healthy!

One more thing I am excited about for this year is just watching Alex learn and grow. He is in such a great stage right now for learning. He wants to know everything. He is learning ABC’s and how to count and so much more!! It is so fun to watch him!!

Last but not least, I am excited this year to see what God has in store for our family!  I am excited to get closer to him through prayer and studying his word!  This has never been one of my strong points in the past, but I want to increase…little by little!! 

Well, that is all for now. I have spent most of the evening looking for hotels, flights, rental cars and so on…so I am beat! I should get my butt to bed, because I have a feeling my son will be up bright and early just because I went to bed after 10 p.m.

So frustrated and is anybody listening?? *UPDATE*

Well, she finally got the pictures up and emailed me.  She is giving me a free 8×10 for my trouble.  I feel better now.  I got a little over excited! LOL  Anyone who wants to see the pics, just email me and I can give you the site and password and stuff!

Well, I got Alex’s pics taken and almost 3 weeks later have heard nothing from the photographer. I called her on Monday and she said pics would be up and ready that night. Well…tick tock! It is now Thursday and still NOTHING!!! I am just upset and I called a different photographer to take his pics soon. I just don’t even want to give her business. Am I being petty???

And secondly, is anyone out there? Are you all reading and not commenting…or have I bored you all to tears?!

Ahhh…the normal life returns!

WoW!  These last 4 months or so have just gone by in such a blur.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed each minute of it…but I am glad it is a new year…that the holidays are over, and that the company is gone!!

I figured out the other day that from September (when Brandon came) to this weekend (when Florence was here) that we had about 4 weekends to ourselves.  We either had company or were visiting someone.   Believe me, I love spending that time with our family.  I am just really looking forward to getting back into our routine and just enjoying spending time with our family of 3 a few weekends!!  Now, in February, the outage starts at Franz’s work. He will be working a lot of hours, and I may *possibly* be working.  SO, like I said, this will be short lived! LOL

I just realized how much I missed our routine while all the Thanksgiving/Christmas festivites were going on.  I realize how much my son thrives on our habits!   I actually like getting up at 4:30 in the morning to go and workout!  It makes for a better day for me!  We humans are such creatures of habit.
