Garage sale???

I am gonna have a garage sale?  Have I gone off the deep end you ask?

I have always been one to say, I will NEVER have a garage sale.    Never say never!!   I got a ton of stuff out of the storage room and piled it in the kitchen downstairs.  I have been pricing things since yesterday afternoon.  Ihave no idea what motivated me, but I am so excited to see the junk go.  I have been decluttering since December, and have gotten rid of well over 1000 things.  I have given a lot away, but I decided to make a few dollars this time around!!   I have been actually having fun with it!!

I think we will have it the weekend of my birthday!  I will post some pics and update about that later on!!!

Weekend visitors!!

Late Thursday night, my parents and brother got here! They are leaving tomorrow morning (Sunday!). We had a fun time. My mom is in a boot after she had surgery on her toes and my dad has a cane after his knee surgery! Alex loved their walker and cane! New toys!!

Mom and Brandon and I went to some garage sales early on Friday morning. I got Alex a Little Tykes slide and picnic table!! Mom got him a few little toys!

Then we went to Menards! Here is a picture to capture that moment! We bought a new faucet for our sink in the kitchen! I will share pictures of that later! Dad and Brandon installed it for us! Franz will be surprised when he gets home from church tomorrow to see it!

This afternoon, we took Alex out swimming in his pool. He had fun. We turned his slide into a “water” slide! He had a BLAST with it. Just didn’t want to stop. His teeth were chattering, he was cold…but he just didn’t wanna quit!!

We are sad they are leaving! Alex always enjoys company, and new people to play with besides mom!! Grandma and Papa Tezel are visiting this week. They will be here Wednesday, so he will have all new people to entertain!!

Losing weight and feeling great!!

Well, it is that time again. Time to crawl up onto the scale and see that scary number that we have been dreading for months! Franz and I were planning on changing our eating habits (ie. eating less, eating healthier, no eating after 7, more water…you get my drift!). Well…that was back in January! Here we are…still the same weight, still eating the same, etc., etc. So, almost 2 weeks ago, I started to change things for myself! I have slowly been changing my eating habits, starting with the grocery shopping trip! I have been incorporating more fruits and veggies into my diet (and Alex gets that benefit too!). Alex and I also try to walk at least once a day to the park and back (although some days we go on 2, 3, or even 4 walks!). I also have a walking video here at home that I am forcing myself to do M-W-F while Alex naps!! Franz is starting, slowly but surely! I am hoping/praying that by the end of the year we will be at, or close to our goals, and feel much healthier!! So, if you have any pointers or encouragement, please comment!!

I am kinda using a Weight Watchers points system along with tracking my food eaten at Spark People (link below will take you there)! I don’t want to be on a strict plan that I feel I cannot stick to once the weight is gone (which happened last time). I want to be free in a way, but just eat smarter!

What’s going on in our world…

Just wanted to post an update of what is happening around here!

This weekend (Thursday to be exact!) my dad, mom, and Brandon will be here until early Sunday morning. Mom finally gets her cast off on Thursday morning, then they are making the trek here to Red Wing!! Mom and I plan to see Hairspray in the theater, and then Franz and Brandon will be watching The Simpson’s Movie! We don’t have much else planned, but we may swing downtown to check out crazy days on Saturday!

Then, next week, Wednesday through Friday, Franz’s parents will be here. They are great at helping around here, and my MIL will be painting the rest of my living room (Nicole started it on Alex’s birthday weekend!). There are 3 walls left to paint! I am excited. My roosters are FINALLY gone!!! I will post some before and after pictures once it is all done!

Next Wednesday, our church is having a big outreach at a park here in town. We will be heading down there for the evening. Then Thursday the 2nd, I am having a Discovery Toys party!

Then our month slows down. Our birthday’s are this month, but we have nothing too exciting planned. Florence will be coming down the weekend before them and spend time with us. She will be taking us to The Port for a birthday treat!!

The last week of August, Kendra will be home…so we hope to see her a little bit while she is here! She has a lot to do and a lot of people to see.

Family fun at the park!!

We have been walking to A.P. Anderson park which is just down the street from our house. They have a nice walking trail around the park. It has softball/baseball fields, tennis courts, a basketball court, etc., along with a nice little playground and picnic area. One nice night, we all went together! Alex just had a ball. There were kids on the main jungle gym, so we just hung out by the tall slide! Well, I took Alex down, and that was the end of that. He just HAD to keep going back for more!! It was a lot of fun!!!
