Our new tree!!

November 17, 2008

This is the tree that Franz let me buy last year.  Was on sale for $199 down from over $500!!  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!  There were SO many branches, it was crazy!  Just what I wanted though!! :)   No more new trees for me….for a LONG time according to Franz! :) This one is upstairs this year, in the living room…not the porch. Both Alex and the cat are being really good around it! :)

And yes, I know it is up WAY too early! LOL I just was so excited to see it!!

7 things about me

October 28, 2008

Well, I have been tagged!  SO, here ya go!! :)

The Rules:
1. To link the tagger and provide the rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving names as well as links to their blogs
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs

Seven things about me!

1.  I graduated with a class of 12 people.  Yes, I am from the middle of nowhere in ND!  Don’t think I would have liked a bigger school though! :)

2.  I love Disney movies.  Each time a new one comes out on DVD, I have to buy it that day! ;)   We have quite the collection, and I love slowly introducing my faves to Alex!

3.  The only other country I’ve ever visited is Canada!  Not much of a world traveler! :)   But someday I’d love to!

4.  I’m a packrat and a piler.  Which means, I keep everything and it gets all neatly piled in stacks throughout my house! (Not one of my favorite qualities!)

5.  I love to scrapbook (not that you can tell though, since I am stuck on Alex’s 1st year!)

6.  Food is my weakness!  Chocolate, cookies, ice cream, french fries, pizza, pasta….you get the idea!

7.  I am going to read the bible in 90 days…starting on Saturday!

OK…now to tag! :)   How about anyone who wants to! LOL

Enjoy!

Read the Bible in 90 days!

October 22, 2008

Well, since I didn’t get very far on my reading the bible through this year, my goal is to do it in 90 days now!!  I am going to wait until Franz is done working nights and our marriage class is almost done before we start.  November 1st is the big day.  I have a few friends joining me as well.  It won’t be done by the end of the year like I originally planned, but by the end of January!  Better late than never I say! :)

Let me know if you’d like to join me!!

Here is the schedule for those interested!

Hard to get back in the swing of it all!

October 22, 2008

After working for just 5 weeks, 9 hour days…away from my home and son, it is taking me a while to get back into the swing of everything.  My house has been just a disaster the last few days, and I can’t seem to get caught up on laundry, dishes, the floors…and so on!

I thought juggling work, a 2 year old, a marriage class, helping at church on Wednesdays and sleeping was tough! ;)   LOL  Alex has been acting out the last few days as well, so that hasn’t helped.  Throw in him NOT napping, and you have one crabby toddler and mommy at the end of the day!

So, here is a list of things I have gotten done since the weekend, of course followed by a list of things I still NEED to get done! :-)   I need something to hold me accountable!

Completed tasks:

  • All bedding washed, beds made
  • All towels washed, folded and put away
  • All but two loads of laundry done
  • Swept the upstairs laminate
  • Dishes caught up through last night
  • Cleared off the buffet in dining room (it is my catchall)
  • Cleaned up Alex’s room
  • Took Franz’s car through the car wash

Tasks that NEED to be completed!

  • Mop the upstairs floors
  • clean both bathrooms
  • Vacuum all carpet and rugs
  • Organize Alex’s toys both up and down stairs
  • Clean up my office area
  • Finish laundry
  • Take recycling out
  • Clean up the garage
  • Finish bringing in the toys from outside (have to find room in the garage!)
  • sweep the stairs
  • Get out winter gear
  • Clean out both cars

Seven glorious years-a reflection and some roses!

October 20, 2008

Well, today is the day!  We are celebrating 7 years of wedded bliss.  Of course, it hasn’t all been that blissful, but that is any marriage!! :)   It has been a pretty great 7 years though.  We’ve had more ups than downs for sure!  Right now we are taking a course at church called Dynamic Marriage and have been finding what we are doing right and things we need to work on.  Sure has been a blessing for our marriage!!!

Over the years we have dealt with issues from potential job loss to infertility to you name it.  We have always come through on top, of course, we couldn’t have done it without the Lord’s help!!  He gets the credit for everything in our lives!  The blessing of Franz’s job, our house, our beautiful son, my ability to stay home, and so on!!

I look forward to many more years together, and maybe another child someday! :-)

Here is a picture of the roses I got this morning from Franz!!  Of course, I arranged them…so they don’t look the greatest, but the pictures don’t do them justice!! :)
